The Girl and the Dog: Fiction Fragment

She reached down for the water bottle at her side, remembered it was empty only when she brought to her lips, sighed, and hung her head. “I should have stayed in the city.” She knew she was wrong about that, of course. The city is where it all started. Things were still bad there. And the smell? She didn’t want to think about the smell. But at least she knew what to do in the city. What abandoned stores to search, which apartments had storerooms others might now know about, what neighborhoods were left at least somewhat intact after the Event. She could find something to eat there. Something to drink. A place to sleep. Hell is other people, though, as someone once said. However…

Sex, Saws, Stumps & Samara: Revisiting Fangoria 2005

This was originally published all the way back in 2005, at DVD in My Pants. The following version does not include all of the photos taken (by me!) for the piece. The formatting may be wonky, too. I’m posting it mostly to keep it alive online. My new ambient record is here. It’s very mellow. Get ready to zone out and meditate

In the spring of last year, I started experimenting with getting far more minimal in my music than usual, trading layers of drones for sparse sounds. Also had some ideas I wanted to play with involving using math to structure long, ever-shifting pieces. Taking those goals and a heaping helping of Brian Eno influence, i started messing with stuff. The Experiment 4 – The Ambient Orchestra (2020) Time Slipping Slow in B (AO07) (25:38) The Untitled Shift (AO08) (11:17) Movement in G (AO05) (9:03) Shifting Keys (AO03) (10:18) OUTTAKES: First Composition (AO02) (15:44)…

Listen to Soundtracks for Horror Films, a film score by yours truly – Eric’s Music

I’ve been lax in giving the world the music I’ve been creating over the last year or two, especially since there has been some stuff I’m proud of that exists in silence, so here is a film score composed by yours truly: Soundtracks for Horror Films: Music Inspired by the Wash. Except there is no movie of The Wash. Therefore there can’t be a soundtrack for it. Feel free to consider this collection of music anyway. The Wash is in part what was in my head as I composed it, after all. Just skip to the video and download link below if all you want is the music! Otherwise, some explanation is required. This is soundtrack music inspired in part by a horror novel written…
