The Work of Rick Lundeen Rick Lundeen has been creating comics for years and years and years. Fact is, I can’t even begin to list them all. a storyboard artist by trade, Rick fills his spare time with self-published comics. He’s been doing it for a long time. He does science fiction, superheroes, fantasy stories, magical realism, and much more – and they’re always really damn good. He’s a brilliant storyteller and I can tell you from experience that he’s brimming with ideas. Forget about the fact that working with Rick has always been a pleasure (we also did this story together), I just plain like his work. . My favorite is probably We Three Kings, an excellent dystopian story of corruption and rebellion….

If you were interested in that little comics anthology I wrote last year (with the help of a slew of talented artists) but still hadn’t gotten around to getting a copy, good news. It’s now available via lulu.com. I’ve gotten my copy and can vouch for its quality. Nice, glossy cover, strong binding, and decent paper quality. I’ll be up front: happy as I was with the quality of the work ComiXpress did (and I was), I got some complaints about slow order fulfillment. Excellent quality on the product, but it’s true. A few orders were slow to be fulfilled. The Lulu version takes a slight slight (slight!) hit on paper quality, but trades it for a glossy cover, printed spine, and very fast delivery….

So, Pitched! 2, right? Here is a not-yet-final mock up of the cover. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s fairly close to what the final cover will look like. This cover also contains information for those with discerning eyes; information that may assist in your excitement levels, or at the very least your knowledge of who is in the what and such like. I promise to post some fully lettered pages over the next two weeks so you can see nice words alongside the shiny pictures. Unfortunately, I can’t predict when Pitched! 2 will be available for purchase. We’re switching printers and I don’t yet know how quickly the new printer turns things around. It’s close to certain that it will be available…

Last month I announced that work on the second volume of my self-published comic anthologies was underway. I’m happy to bring you a bit of a tease: the opening page of a story done with Rick Lundeen called Voice of the Universe. We’re quite proud of it.
