Don’t you just hate it when you realize that your budget is being stretched to its very limit? It happens more times to me throughout the year than I would like to admit that’s for sure. Particularly at this time of year when I start to buy Christmas presents. I have to say, I do tend to overspend buying presents for the people I love, and it can leave me running a little short. That’s why I’m always anxious to find new ways to raise some extra cash and stay in the green. These are some of the tactics that I have discovered and used over the years.
Get Rid Of Unwanted Items
I’m sure that your home is filled with items that you don’t want or don’t need. For instance, I bet there are plenty of people who have stocked up a lovely DVD collection. Now you find you can get all the films you want online and watch them whenever you want with a great streaming service like Netflix. So, there’s no need for that massive set of DVDs or Blu-Rays. Well, you can sell them in bulk online and get a lot of the money that you spent back. You won’t get the full price that you paid for them, but it’s more than you’ll receive dumping them in the trash. If you’re thinking, wait I still watch those, take my advice. Try to remember the last time you popped in a DVD and didn’t stream it online instead. You’ll probably find you can’t even remember the last time you did that.
It’s not just DVDs either. You can sell a whole variety of things. You can sell books in bulk if you’ve kept all the ones you bought for school or university. Some of those are certainly going to fetch a pretty penny!
Do A Little Guest Writing
If you’re a blogger like me, you’ll know you don’t always have time to update your site. Instead, you get other people to do it for you. Shh, don’t tell anyone but all bloggers do this, and they’ll pay you to provide them with some awesome posts. You won’t make a fortune here but if you check their ‘work with me’ pages you’ll find a variety of different offers. You don’t have to be a professional writer to take this opportunity either. You just need to be able to provide something cool and interesting that is relevant to their site.
Win Some Lose Some
Last but not least, you can enter a few competitions online. Only enter the ones that are free, so you don’t lose money in your attempt to stretch your bank balance. You probably don’t realize that professional compers make a killing with this idea as an actual job! It stands to reason then, that you could be in with a chance by entering a few competitions every now and again. It’s not a guaranteed way to boost your cash funds of course. But it will be a nice surprise if you do win.
