I’ve lately had a weakness for female British pop singers. Amy Winehouse is a deliriously talented train wreck of a woman with one of the best albums of the last five years (Back to Black). Lily Allen is a charmingly fun lad dressed as a quirky young faux-cockney gal, and her songs are darling. (Sorry, but if you don’t like “LDN” or “Alfie,” you’re dead inside.) Beth Orton (who is more folk than pop) is a songwriter who may one day eclipse the great Carol King. But Kate Nash. I don’t know where this 20something came from, but she needs to not go away, ever. Ear-bleedingly relaxing music, just for you

While checking the traffic stats on my website, I came across this unusual link. Surfed over to check it out. It’s a French website in which people post what music they’re listening to at the moment. And one of those fellas happened to be listening to one of my albums. Well hey, that’s pretty neat. Brought a smile to my face. The first record from Carl Sagan’s Ghost is out and ready for download. Go here to get it. It’s ambient music, very soothing stuff, the kind of think you put on and mellow out to. I’ll have an epic 23-minute remix of “Soldania” on an upcoming EP to accompany the album. Ideally, it will be good sleeping music. Yes, such a thing exists. I swear to god. A brief history of time

Well, my work PC kinda got borked on Friday, so I spent all day today running scan after scan after scan after scan. Think the problem is resolved. I blame … well, I blame someone who is not me. It wasn’t my fault. I swear it. Because things are rarely, if ever, my fault. Totally forgot to post this to my website after it was finished, so I’ll post it here instead. A month or two back I spent a few hours playing around with music by Stanley Lieber. Time, time, can I get a few hours?

Too much to freakin’ do and not enough time to do it. Not that it isn’t my own fault. No one FORCES me to do this stuff. But I do it anyway because, you know, it’s fun. Or seems like fun. Or something. So anyway. Collaborating on an ambient music project with Daniel Davis of Carl Sagan’s Ghost. Go download some of his music. It’s damn spiffy, and I’m quite pleased to be working with him. We’ve a few tracks in progress (“Without Waking,” “Snow Queen’s Slumber”) that are sounding quite nice so far.
