It’s no secret that the world is constantly battling a war against the trade of narcotics. Almost every day, we read stories in the media about people across the drugs “food chain” getting caught and sent to jail. As you can imagine, law enforcement officials from countries like Colombia are always busy trying to stop drugs like cocaine from getting produced and exported to the rest of the world. Unfortunately for them, it looks like the world of illicit drugs isn’t going to cease anytime soon. Campaigners have called for drugs to become a public health matter rather than a law enforcement one. Did you know that crime statistics for many countries show that substance abuse and distribution is one of the top reasons for…

Contributed Post The job market figures under Obama weren’t good. Although economists waxed on about how he managed to get the rate of unemployment down below five percent, that headline statistic brushed over a much deeper problem in the economy. A lot of people who found themselves out of work simply didn’t bother looking for a job. Instead, they dropped out of the labor force and vanished altogether. Contributed Post Image source The idea of robots with sophisticated artificial intelligence taking over the world has been one that Hollywood directors and sci-fi writers have enjoyed exploring for years. However, the fictional aspects of this concept have been what has driven the genre, until now. Sure, there are major concerns regarding machines replacing humans in the workforce, a lot of which has already begun to happen from supermarket cashiers to telemarketers. But that doesn’t mean there are no benefits because there are. There are millions of benefits, and none more so than in healthcare, where robotics is mindblowing for anyone with even a small twitch of geekiness in them. Contributed Post Link A recent report covered in the media suggests that recruitment targets for schools were missed for the last five years. The consequences for students trying to get an education are evident. With fewer teachers available, children won’t get the same level of information and attention as their predecessors. That could result in a generation of young people who struggle to gain university placements or find their way into well-paid jobs. Today, we’re going to take a quick look at just some of the reasons for that situation. Experts predict things will turn around during the next two years. However, there’s still a long way to go. Low annual salaries The average annual salary for a permanent teacher in the UK is somewhere…

Great beers take their influences from all over the world. These five brews are made in American, but they wouldn’t exist without the influence of great brewers in places like Belgium and Germany. Allagash White Twenty years ago no one would have dreamed of saying this, but these days the United States damn near seems to be the center of the beer world when it comes to quality, innovation, and invention. Groundbreaking beer efforts didn’t start here, though, and many of our best were inspired by styles pioneered elsewhere. The witbier, for instance. A beer as ubiquitous as Allagash White actually has its origins in the small but beer rich country of Belgium, where the witbier style was created and brought to modern popularity by…
