Some video peeks at the ’90s podcast I do with Nerd Out With Me

I’m sure somewhere along the line I’ve mentioned that I do a weekly podcast with Tig Carson as part of the whole Nerd Out With Me thing. It’s fun. We go week-to-week talking about what was going on in specific months in the 1990s. Music, movies, games, news & current events, that sort of thing. You can check out the ’90s cast podcast <—here (lots of ways to subscribe, get it to your phone, download them, or stream them right from the site), or check out some abbreviated video versions below to get a taste for what we do. Hope you enjoy – and if you dig what we do, support us on Patreon!

There was a Mork & Mindy board game for some damn reason, and I have one

The early ’80s were a weird time for board games. You either had hardcore war simulations, lightweight family games, or lousy games based on pop culture stuff. The Mork & Mindy game is obviously the latter. Mork & Mindy was, of course, the “zany” television sitcom that brought Robin Williams and giant alien eggs into all our homes. Robin Williams played an alien who talked in nonsense words. He lived with some woman, Mindy. My family watched this when I was a kid. It was goofy. For some damn reason, they made a board game out of this show. And I got my hands on one. Let’s take a look at it: I’m not sure who thought this would be a good idea. I do…

An interview with yours truly on The Walking Dead, from 94.3 The Point

I recently had an opportunity to sit down with Nicole Murray from 94.3 The Point, a radio station here in New Jersey. I was in to talk about The Walking Dead (’cause a few years back I independently published a book on the show, natch). If you want to take a look — and you should, because my shirt is a wonderful shade of blue — then you know what to do.

Classic MS-DOS games, rare board games, and more: my latest Youtube shenanigans

You may or may not know that I co-host a goofy little Youtube show called Nerd Out With Me, formerly Hours in the Attic. We drink beer and talk about nerd stuff we like, usually older stuff from ye ol’ days o’ yore. It’s fun. I like doing it. And these are some of the recent episodes we did. Fun stuff like our favorite MS-DOS games, a rare early edition of my favorite board game, Axis & Allies, a sneak peek at a totally outlandish B-movie called Attack of the Killer Shrews, and a review of a SUPER COOL indie party game called Diss Jockey. So check them out. My fave MS-DOS games are better than Tig’s:   Axis & Allies is an old, old…

Rotator Cuff, the forgotten little band only I loved

I need to take a little trip back into Music Nostalgiaville for a moment. Not for any reason, just because. I’m going to do it with a cut from a band called Rotator Cuff. (If you want to skip the story and go right to the music, go below.) This band was completely local, so I acknowledge this is ’90s nostalgia for no one but me. It’s not even all that nostalgic for people in my area. This song got a decent amount of airplay on WHTG 106.3, which back in the day was one of the most important college rock stations in the northeast. Matt Pinfield of 120 Minutes was an alt rock icon locally thanks to his time there, and that’s where I (sort…
