Some books by friends

You folks should check out some of these books. They’re self-published by folks I know, but knowing these folks isn’t the point. I wouldn’t be plugging them if they sucked. They don’t suck. These are interesting, unusual, and memorable books worth checking out. Brian Spaeth is a visionary and probably also a lunatic. I would not let him date my daughter, but I would let him give a speech at my funeral. He has some books. The Christmas Bridge – “It’s a timeless excitement fable and that means maybe lessons, and explosions, and emotions, and etc.” LOL, WUT? In The Christmas Bridge, Christmas is outlawed. So, “When charismatic life drifter JESI BURNS and one-time actoring icon NICK KEEGE are tasked by Santa Claus himself to…

“Stuff Every Husband Should Know” is pretty much done

Stuff Every Husband Should Know

What the title of this post says is true and good and quite factual to the best of my knowledge — which admittedly isn’t particularly deep, but I think I can speak on this subject with at least some authority. Last week, two weeks ago, something like that — time is largely a blur to me — I took a gander at the edited-and-laid-out-and-made-pretty version of Stuff Every Husband Should Know (due out April 5, 2011 from the fine folks at Quirk Books). To give you a sense of what it will be like, check out Stuff Every Man Should Know.) (And hey, I just realized that an early listing of Husband is up at Amazon. Check it out. No real info there yet, but that’s to be expected; it’s still very early in the process. The final manuscript was only just approved a few weeks ago.

Stuff Every Husband Should Know

Headline says it all. The manuscript for my next book, a pocket book called Stuff Every Husband Should Know and scheduled for publication next spring by Quirk Books, has been finished and turned in to my awesome editor, Stephen Segal. This doesn’t mean my work is finished, of course. There will be more to do on the project. But the tough stuff is done. And that’s good. Now I set my sights on scripting my next comic anthology, which I have mentioned a few times before. Some great stuff is coming in from the artists involved, really exciting images that are bringing these stories to life in ways I hadn’t imagined. Can’t wait for people to see more. Further preview pages will be coming soon….

Whoooaaa, we’re halfway there

Stuff Every Husband Should Know

A little more than halfway, actually. Stuff Every Husband Should Know is chugging along nicely. We are past the halfway mark. The last few evenings have seen chapters such as How to Grocery Shop in Less Than 30 Minutes and How to Make Family Time (Even If You Work A Lot) submitted to my editor. He has yet to curse my name and call me a fool, so I guess it’s going okay. To give you a sense of what this book will be like, check out Stuff Every Man Should Know, also by Quirk Books. Husband will be part of the same pocket books series, in roughly the same format. As you can see, it’s fun and awesome — two things I hope to…
