New album of guitar noise

If you don’t check out my music archive blog, you may have missed the latest release from my m2 project, which focuses on ambient guitar soundscapes and walls of sound. Unlike the much softer and more somber Six Stories, released earlier this year, this new one is very raw and ugly. Check it out: m2 Ashes 1) Choking on Ashes (7:18) 2) Sleep Paralysis (8:48) 3) Dry Story (7:11) 4) Are His Defenses Going To Hold Up? (3:28) 5) Climbing Mountains and Falling Short (16:16) All songs (c) Eric San Juan 2009. Free to distribute, just ask. More information on this release here.

Music by Eric – “eight times alone”

How about an airy wall of sound to soothe the savage soul? Some guitar tones, feedback, and soundscapes? I’ve previously posted the two most recent albums from my m2 project, which is noisy, ambient, walls-of-sound music I record at home. So I figured why not roll it back to 2007 for the second m2 record, eight times alone? I like this one. If you’re into this sort of thing, maybe you will, too: 1) Preparing A Resume (6:43) 2) Creative Endeavors Abandoned (10:32) 3) Tea Leaves (4:55) 4) At Room Temperature They Leave, Don’t Call (6:28) 5) On Air (6:14) 6) Beast From Forbidden Planet (6:05) 7) It’s Lonely Here (2:42) 8) The Ramifications of Answering Machines (13:33) (For previous postings from this music project,…

Ear-bleedingly relaxing music, just for you

While checking the traffic stats on my website, I came across this unusual link. Surfed over to check it out. It’s a French website in which people post what music they’re listening to at the moment. And one of those fellas happened to be listening to one of my albums. Well hey, that’s pretty neat. Brought a smile to my face. I give the stuff away — it’s just a hobby, really — so it’s always a joy when someone discovers it and likes it. After all, I make it for me, so when other people dig it that’s a bonus. You can listen along at home, too. Here’s the record he was listening to, for your downloading, ear-splitting pleasure: m2 – the dialogue of…

Time, time, can I get a few hours?

Too much to freakin’ do and not enough time to do it. Not that it isn’t my own fault. No one FORCES me to do this stuff. But I do it anyway because, you know, it’s fun. Or seems like fun. Or something. So anyway. Collaborating on an ambient music project with Daniel Davis of Carl Sagan’s Ghost. Go download some of his music. It’s damn spiffy, and I’m quite pleased to be working with him. We’ve a few tracks in progress (“Without Waking,” “Snow Queen’s Slumber”) that are sounding quite nice so far. If you want music to chill out to, this will be it. I’m also doing a remix of one of the tracks on his upcoming album. He doesn’t know it yet,…
