Late last year, Stephen Segal, Editorial & creative director at the legendary Weird Tales, asked me to contribute some soundtrack music for a series of brief promotional videos he had in the works. The second of those videos (and first featuring my music) is now online. Check it out: The track is called “Blasphemous Horrors”. If you found those creepy sounds interesting, you can surf right over here and download all 13 one-minute compositions I did for Weird Tales. I think you’ll find them jarring, disturbing, and just this side of cool.

If you don’t check out my music archive blog, you may have missed the latest release from my m2 project, which focuses on ambient guitar soundscapes and walls of sound. Unlike the much softer and more somber Six Stories, released earlier this year, this new one is very raw and ugly. Check it out: m2 Ashes 1) Choking on Ashes (7:18) 2) Sleep Paralysis (8:48) 3) Dry Story (7:11) 4) Are His Defenses Going To Hold Up? (3:28) 5) Climbing Mountains and Falling Short (16:16) All songs (c) Eric San Juan 2009. Free to distribute, just ask. More information on this release here.
The fifth release from my m2 project. m2 – Six Stories 1) The First Story (1:48) 2) The Second Story (6:54) 3) The Third Story (4:11) 4) The Fourth Story (1:13) 5) The Fifth Story (5:34) 6) The Sixth Story (6:24) 7) The Muse Curls Up, Dies (22:34) More information on this album here. How about an airy wall of sound to soothe the savage soul? Some guitar tones, feedback, and soundscapes? I’ve previously posted the two most recent albums from my m2 project, which is noisy, ambient, walls-of-sound music I record at home. So I figured why not roll it back to 2007 for the second m2 record, eight times alone? I like this one. If you’re into this sort of thing, maybe you will, too: 1) Preparing A Resume (6:43) 2) Creative Endeavors Abandoned (10:32) 3) Tea Leaves (4:55) 4) At Room Temperature They Leave, Don’t Call (6:28) 5) On Air (6:14) 6) Beast From Forbidden Planet (6:05) 7) It’s Lonely Here (2:42) 8) The Ramifications of Answering Machines (13:33) (For previous postings from this music project,…
The first record from Carl Sagan’s Ghost is out and ready for download. Go here to get it. It’s ambient music, very soothing stuff, the kind of think you put on and mellow out to. I’ll have an epic 23-minute remix of “Soldania” on an upcoming EP to accompany the album. Ideally, it will be good sleeping music. Yes, such a thing exists. I swear to god. Few things are better than laying in bed on a hot summer night, sweat clinging to your skin and the breeze touching you like some unseen lover, and Windy & Carl just kind of filling up the space around you. Not played too loud — always softly — only just enough to chase away my tinnitus. It’s not…
